HOW TO STAY FOCUSED

by - 21:45

I don't know how to start. Well, you can say I already forgot how to write! Just straight to the point then. sigh

Because the new year will come in a few days from now, I would like to share some tips for you guys about How to stay focused! When we talk about New year, we must have a new goal! Or, is it still the last year goal? You know, whatever our goal is, we must hope that next year would be a better year than this year. right?

How to stay focused? These tips might come in handy for the students to finish their homework. You want every time you get homework you would get it done in time right? because it's your NEW YEAR GOAL!!

1 - Get rid of all distractions!
Phone, laptop, TV, PSP, XBOX and everything that you think it can distract your focus get rid of it!
Just throw it into the next room or just ask your parents or anyone that you can rely on to keep it for you until you finish your homework. Yes, you also can turn off your phone.

Do you know 'SelfControl'? SelfControl is an app that will help you to avoid distraction from your phone. SelfControl allows you to block certain websites for a set amount of time. This enabled you to concentrate fully on your studies and avoid sporadically checking social networks or your email. Best of all is that once you put these blocks in place, it's impossible for you to access them until the time you've previously specified runs out. You can't just flick a switch and check them. Even if you get desperate and delete the application, you won't able to access them before the time you specified. So, are you dare enough?

2- Put up motivating Quotes
This actually works fine for me. Just pick any quotes that you think it can give you motivates when you want to stop studying. Paste it somewhere that you can see it easily.

3- Choose to work at a time when you will focus best!
This is really IMPORTANT. Each one of us has different times where we will focus. For me, my perfect time to study is at night. I still can study at other times, but I will get distracts easily. For example feel sleepy and chatting with my friends. You have to search the best time when you will focus best! Most people say study around 4 in the morning is great because at that time our brain is fresh and can absorb more information. Usually, I would study around that time when I need to memorize something. (Azhari)

4- Pick a perfect area to study
I like to study on the bed because it is so soft and comfortable. But, you know what? You should not study on the bed! If you study on your bed, your possibilities to feel sleepy is high. That's what we don't want to happen.

It's true that studying on the bed would be more comfortable because you can lay down and it's softer than a chair. But, because it's so comfortable, it's not a proper place to study! Instead of a bed, why don't we choose soft chair? Even if you don't have a soft chair, the comfortable ones would be okay. As long as you're comfortable, you'll be just fine.

Keep your study area tidy, so you'll be more comfortable and have the right space you needed.

Lighting is important too. If you choose an area that doesn't have enough light, you'll end up feeling sleepy.

5- Take short breaks
This is so important to make sure you stay focus. Every 30 minutes to 1 hour of your period study, take short breaks in about 10 minutes to refresh your brain. If you didn't do so, you can't absorb everything that you've learned. You are wasting your time. Time is gold~~

You can do everything that you like during break time. Drawing, watching television, playing games.. whatever. But remember short breaks. Just 10 minutes! Stay strong my dear~!

I wish you guys would get flying colors in every exam! But, even tho you don't get a great result, don't be sad. Allah knows better what is the best for you. Believe in him. Hard work without du'a and tawakal is nothing. He is the ones who give us the success. He is the ones who determined everything for us.

Thanks for reading anyway!
